Academic publisher De Gruyter and Shanghai Jiao Tong University are cooperating to create a joint research lab. The Shanghai Jiao Tong University - De Gruyter Joint Lab has just been inaugurated at the Minhang Campus of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). The research lab will offer trainings, public lectures, academic conferences, the joint publication of research results, and other forms of academic exchange.
Founded in 1896, SJTU is one of the oldest institutions of higher education in China. After 127 years of development, SJTU has become a comprehensive, research-oriented university specialized in STM, with equal emphasis on arts and sciences. In the latest QS World University Ranking of global universities in 2023, SJTU ranks 46 in the world.
Gu Feng, Executive Deputy Secretary of SJTU, said: “The establishment of this joint lab will fully combine the advantages of SJTU and De Gruyter, further promote the development of first-class academic journals and enhance the global influence and competitiveness of SJTU.”
