De Gruyter Brill and The Hague Academy Renew Publishing Partnership
The Hague, 30 October 2025
Leading academic publisher De Gruyter Brill has renewed its long-standing partnership with the Hague Academy of International Law, continuing their collaboration on the publication of one of the most respected international law series in the world.
The renewed agreement ensures the continued publication and global distribution of the Academy’s renowned titles, including the Collected Courses of the Hague Academy of International Law. These works are considered essential resources for scholars, legal practitioners, and students engaged in the study and practice of international law.
“This partnership is rooted in a shared dedication to academic excellence and global accessibility,” said Maurits van den Boogert, Chief Publishing Officer at De Gruyter Brill. “We are proud to continue supporting the Hague Academy in bringing authoritative legal scholarship to an international audience.”
Jean-Marc Thouvenin, Secretary General of the Hague Academy of International Law, added: "The Academy publishes its courses since more than a century in the famous Collected Courses of The Hague Academy of International Law. This is not only the Academy’s heritage, but also its project for the next century. It is therefore crucial and for the Academy to renew and deepen its partnership with De Gruyter Brill for ensuring the best access for all interested persons to the Academy’s Collected Courses and other publications."
Piet Hein Donner and Anniek Meinders representing the Hague Academy of International Law and Maurits van den Boogert on behalf of De Gruyter Brill have signed the renewed agreement in an official ceremony earlier this week, underscoring the enduring collaboration between two of the most respected institutions in international legal publishing.
